sisterhood of the traveling regalia
Mar. 22nd, 2018 10:10 pm[ Finals were one of Ignis' favorite parts of the school year, mostly because it was a way for him to go over everything he'd learned and prove to himself that he'd adequately understood all of the information presented and could likely teach someone-- really only Noctis, if he needed to. That sentiment wasn't shared among many of his classmates, however and he learned quickly to keep his thoughts to himself on that. Graduating wasn't a huge affair when it finally happened for him; he made sure to ask his family not to make a huge ordeal out of it, and graciously accepted the graduation gifts he was given instead.
Noctis' graduation, however, was going to be something more than that. Regis has mentioned offhandedly that he'd like to throw some sort of event, partially to celebrate but Ignis has a feeling that it's not just that, not really. They need periods of good to celebrate while everything else is going on: Regis' declining health, rumors of the Empire lurking at their borders, pushing where they're not welcome. It's nothing overt but Ignis watches it all the same, reading reports for Noctis, annotating them and placing them in a manila folder each morning to go over.
He might have enjoyed exams, but when he pulls up to pick Noctis up that afternoon and sees herds of teenagers roaming about, there's no denying they're a little subdued. There's less - most probably still attending after school studying to prepare for the last few days this week. There's Prompto, waving an enthusiastic goodbye to Noctis as he jogs backwards and nearly hits a fellow classmate; Ignis grimaces, but Prompto recovers and hurries off which means when Noctis gets close, he pops the door open. ]
Rumor has it that the worst test this week was scheduled for today?
[ Prompto had told him via text message, before following it up with a question about how easily Noctis could change testing requirements once she ascended the throne, which Ignis hadn't answered past: I rather think she'll have more pressing matters to attend to. Still, Gladiolus is right; Ignis does spoil Noctis terribly, which is why inside the car, in Noctis' carseat is her favorite drink, picked up along the way. ]
